May 4, 2005, Atlanta - SCANA Energy was awarded the 2005 Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics by the Better Business Bureau of Central Georgia, Inc. in category II (100-499 employees). The BBB serves 41 counties in Central Georgia and the Central Savannah River Area.
SCANA Energy also was awarded first runner-up Torch Award for category III (100-999 employees) for the area serving Metro Atlanta, Athens and Northeast Georgia.
The Torch Award is designed to promote not only the importance of ethical business practices, but the willingness and efforts made by outstanding businesses to ensure the marketplace remains fair and honorable for all. Qualified winners of the Torch Award can go on to compete at the national level for the Council of Better Business Bureaus' Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics.
