On April 2^nd, SCANA Energy hosted the brand’s annual Field Day to celebrate students enrolled in the SCANA Homework Centers program. The event, held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in partnership with AMB Sports + Entertainment, offered 315 students from Title 1 schools in Atlanta the opportunity to explore the stadium and play games on the field with legends from Atlanta United and the Atlanta Falcons.

“Field Day is the culmination of a year of hard work for these students,” said Carol King, Senior Sponsorship and Social Impact Specialist. “The Homework Centers program helps them develop valuable study skills sets them up for success as they continue their educational journeys. Now that they’ve completed the program, it’s time to have fun!”

Before competing on the field, the students toured the stadium’s garden and resource recovery sites. Along the way, they saw how small actions from fans attending events at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, such as recycling their cans and bottles, can make big environmental impacts.

SCANA Energy Homework Centers are after-school programs held at 10 Title 1 elementary schools across metro Atlanta. They work with first- through fifth-grade students to improve school performance and study skills. They also provide snacks, school supplies, and enrichment activities so the children can have the best experience possible during each meeting.
