SCANA Energy’s March Organization of the Month is Open Hand Atlanta. SCANA donated $5,000 to support their mission to help at-risk Georgians get the health and nutrition they need.

Open Hand Atlanta is one of the largest community-based providers of home-delivered meals and nutrition services in the U.S. Their goal is to improve access to healthy food and empower people with valuable nutrition education. They deliver free meals to seniors, recipients of Medicaid/SSI, and those living with HIV or AIDS all throughout Georgia. One-third of Open Hand Atlanta’s meal recipients reported that they would not know where their next meal would be coming from if not for the organization.

In addition to supporting marginalized Georgians with free, healthy meals, Open Hand Atlanta offers a program for everyone called Good Measure Meals. With this service, you can enjoy healthy meals without having to plan while  supporting a great organization. Customers can choose the meal plan that works best for them, with everything from vegetarian or family options to Rx meals for those with specific medical conditions.
