December's Organization of the Month is the SCANA Energy Homework Centers. SCANA Energy is matching all donations made to the SCANA Energy Homework Centers program through January 3^rd, with a minimum donation of $5,000. The SCANA Energy Homework Centers provide secure, supervised environments where students in grades two through five spend time after school working on homework assignments, developing study skills, and engaging in enrichment activities. Local schools host the centers and staff them with certified teachers from each school.

Since launching in 1999, SCANA Energy Homework Centers have grown to serve more than 6,000 students at 56 Title I schools in 12 Georgia counties. Data from previous years show that at least 75 percent of students improved their reading and math levels each year, with some schools even seeing 100 percent of students improving.
