In honor of Black History Month, SCANA Energy donated $5,000 to ATL: Advance the Lives (ATL). This donation will be used for the organization’s Black Joy Fund and will specifically support 3D Girls, Inc., enabling them to attend the Black Girl Dream Conference this summer. SCANA is proud to back an organization that shares its focus on supporting Georgia’s youth.

ATL: Advance the Lives actively addresses the inequality faced by Black youth. To do this, ATL partners with various nonprofits, businesses, athletes, law enforcement, and more who share the goal of supporting Black youth. These partners address educational advancement, social-emotional development, and economic mobility.

The Black Joy Fund is a grant program that provides grants of up to $10,000 per organization per year. It funds after-school programs serving Black youth in Atlanta and creates opportunities for them to experience the joys of childhood without any limitations due to societal or economic barriers.

3D Girls, Inc., empowers young women through effective mentorship. The girls attending the Black Girl Dream Conference will get to spend 2 days focusing on a variety of educational topics in an atmosphere of fun and celebration. The 2024 conference will have an emphasis on Afrofuturism, teaching the girls about health and wellness, entrepreneurship, academic preparation, and more to inspire them to dream bigger and give them the tools to achieve their dreams.
