Atlanta, Sept. 13, 2004 - Natural gas marketer SCANA Energy, a unit of SCANA Corporation (NYSE:SCG), announced today that it is launching a customer service platform unlike any other in Georgia's natural gas market – a "100% Satisfaction Guarantee."
"Georgia has a number of natural gas marketers whose services and rate plans are all very similar to one another," said George Devlin, SCANA Energy's vice president and general manager. "However, SCANA Energy is the only natural gas provider in Georgia to back up our service with a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee. This gives natural gas customers here a real difference when it comes to choosing a service provider."
With its 100 percent satisfaction guarantee, SCANA Energy promises that if its customers are not completely satisfied with their natural gas service, the company will pay to switch them to another marketer. In Georgia, natural gas customers are able to switch providers once annually at no charge; additional switches come with the Atlanta Gas Light surcharge of $7.50.
"We want our current and future customers to know we are committed to their satisfaction," said Devlin. "Customer service is our foundation. We encourage consumers who want to experience the difference that SCANA Energy provides to switch to our company. If you're not completely satisfied, for any reason or at any time, we'll pay to switch you to whatever provider you want, no strings attached."
Devlin said that while promotions and incentives come and go among marketers, SCANA Energy's guarantee is here to stay. "This guarantee is our commitment to our customers and represents a long-term platform for our company. It has the strength to become an industry benchmark."
To unveil the new 100 percent satisfaction guarantee, SCANA Energy is launching a television advertising campaign that features a woman skydiving for the first time. Her parachute safely opens to reveal the SCANA Energy "100% Satisfaction Guarantee" logo. Radio spots reinforce the concept through additional scenarios.
