What does SCANA Energy do?

SCANA Energy is proud to be one of the first certified natural gas marketers in Georgia, serving residential, commercial and industrial customers since the start of deregulation in 1998. As a leading natural gas provider, we serve homes and businesses connected to the natural gas pipelines owned and controlled by Atlanta Gas Light (AGL). We purchase natural gas for distribution, offer competitive rate plans, facilitate the billing process, provide answers to questions with friendly and knowledgeable customer service, and give back to our local communities. We also have a regulated unit, SCANA Energy Regulated Division, that has been approved by the Georgia Public Service Commission as the state’s only regulated natural gas provider to offer natural gas to low-income consumers as well as customers who are unable to get natural gas service from other marketers.

How does SCANA Energy support the local community?

SCANA Energy customers are members of our community! This is why we strive to make a difference in the lives of the customers and communities we serve. As a company and as individuals, we volunteer time and donate money and resources to a wide variety of organizations in Georgia.

Here are a few of the many ways we’re giving back and staying involved in local communities:

• SCANA Energy Homework Centers: This program provides a safe and structured study environment where students can complete their class assignments and learn proper study skills. Each homework center operates with two certified teachers who are responsible for the total management of the program. SCANA Energy provides funds for the teachers, an assistant, snacks, and student incentives for this signature program.
• Discounted Natural Gas Plans for Those Who Serve: We value our service men and women, and we were the first natural gas company in Georgia to introduce a military discount to the state’s natural gas market. We’re proud to support military personnel, first responders, and their families, not only by helping them save on natural gas bills, but also through our ongoing partnerships with United Military Care, Inc. and the United Service Organizations (USO) of Georgia.
• Environmental Stewardship: We partner with non-profit organizations like EarthShare of Georgia, the Georgia Conservancy, and Chattahoochee Nature Center to protect, preserve and improve the environment. Through the Captain Planet Foundation, we fund Project Learning Gardens in elementary and middle schools across Georgia.
• HEAT: Not everyone can afford to keep their home warm in the winter, which is why we’re proud to have donated more than $1 million to HEAT, or Heating Energy Assistance Team, Inc. for more than a decade to help those who need assistance with their utility bills.
• Hometown Pride: We support our local sports teams from the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United FC as a founding partner of Mercedes-Benz Stadium to the Atlanta Hawks as the Official Energy Partner of State Farm Arena. Through these partnerships, we’ve been able to provide VIP experiences to military families, as well as inspire students at our Homework Center events.
