Sign Up for Natural Gas in 5 Easy Steps

There’s no denying it – moving (and getting everything set up once you’re there) is stressful. Luckily, whether you’re new to Georgia or moving within the state, we’ve got great news: there’s no need to dig through your moving boxes when setting up your Georgia natural gas account. SCANA Energy has made it easy to sign up for service through our quick, five-step process.

Before you get started, be sure to have the following information on hand:

  • Name
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Address where you’d like natural gas service
  • Your current gas company (if switching Georgia natural gas providers)
  • Social security number

That’s it! Now, you’re ready to get started. Here’s what you can expect:

Let’s break down those steps.

  1. Start the sign-up process by indicating whether you’re switching to SCANA Energy from another provider or whether you’re signing up for new service.
    • Bonus Tip: You’ll be given the option to insert a promo code for your natural gas service. You’re in luck: our GasWise readers have access to a code for up to $100 off your bill!
  2. Provide your service address, or the address where you’d like natural gas service. Indicate whether this address also serves as your mailing address.
  3. Next, you’ll be able to choose your natural gas rate. There are several options, so think through which plan best aligns with your needs. Do you prefer a short-term (6 month) contract, or a 2-year contract? Are you more of a fixed or variable rate person?
    • Bonus Tip: At this stage, you’ll also have the option to enroll in an Automatic Renewal Program when your SCANA Energy contract ends.
  4. After that, we’ll just need a few personal details: your name, phone number, email address and social security number.
  5. Once you’re approved, you’ll be able to select your start date. We’ll email you to confirm the date and provide instructions on setting up your online account, bill payments, etc. It couldn’t be easier!
