Can I switch to SCANA Energy?
Yes! If you are in our service area, you can call us to set up your natural gas service. Note that you may be subject to fees from your current provider, so be sure to check their terms so you know what to expect when you switch to SCANA. How much does it cost to transfer utilities?
The only charge related to transferring natural gas service is a connection fee at the new service location. If an Atlanta Gas Light (AGL) meter is already present, the connection fee is $60. If the meter needs to be set, the connection fee is $75. The connection fee will appear on your first bill.
Fortunately, with SCANA Energy there are no additional charges for transferring your service. If you are currently locked into a fixed rate, you will select a new rate plan with no early termination fee.
Can I transfer utilities with a balance?
You cannot transfer service with an overdue balance on your account, so be sure you’re up to date on payments before transferring.
Should I worry about an early termination fee?
An early termination fee does not apply when transferring service or moving out of our service area. A fee will apply if you switch providers before the end of your fixed rate plan, see your plan terms for more information.
When should I call to transfer service?
You can schedule your transfer up to 90 days in advance, so it’s best to call as soon as your move date is set to ensure there are no service disruptions.
How can I prepare for my move?
Once you’ve scheduled your transfer with SCANA, your natural gas service is set. But that’s not all you need to ensure your move goes smoothly. When transferring your natural gas service, also think about transferring other utilities and services like electricity and internet.
