SCANA Energy Kicks Off Back-To-School At Nesbit Elementary With The Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta, GA –- As the Official Natural Gas Provider of the Atlanta Falcons, SCANA Energy will host Falcons defensive end Jonathan Massaquoi for a back-to-school celebration at its homework center at Nesbit Elementary School on Tuesday, September 17.
Jonathan Massaquoi, along with the Falcons mascot and cheerleaders, will visit the homework center students at the school on 6575 Cherokee Drive in Tucker from 4:15 p.m. – 5:15 p.m. Massaquoi will read to the students, talk about the importance of education, and answer questions.
The Nesbit Elementary Homework Center operates from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The center serves 30 second through fifth grade students. “We are very pleased to be partnering with SCANA. This homework center is a great way for our students to extend their learning as they are challenged and enriched with high quality instruction and leadership,” says Clayborn Knight, principal of Nesbit.
SCANA Energy Homework Centers provide a safe and structured study environment where students can complete their class assignments and learn proper study skills. Each homework center operates with two certified teachers who are responsible for the total management of the program. SCANA Energy provides funds for the teachers, an assistant, snacks, and student incentives. Additional Georgia Homework Centers include elementary schools in East Point, Macon, Marietta, Norcross, and Rome.
