Fueling the Next Generation Through Homework Centers

Giving back to the communities we serve is essential to us here at SCANA Energy. For over 20 years, SCANA has helped make a difference in the lives of local students through our Homework Centers program. We’ve provided secure, supervised after-school environments for students to develop their study skills and complete homework.

Three out of four students lack the supplies they need to succeed throughout the year (source). This year, more than ever, we want to help local children and their families successfully navigate remote and hybrid learning during the pandemic.

That’s why we’re helping to fund essential supplies and needs such as laptops, meals and internet access. You can help too—we’ll match all donations made to our Homework Centers program through the end of 2020.

Homework isn’t the only thing happening at our Homework Centers.

Participation in our after-school program leads to better grades, increased self-esteem, improved class participation and much more. Donations like yours can have a big impact on children in metro Atlanta Title 1 schools; by ensuring they have access to the right tools during this difficult time, we’re giving them the foundation they need to learn and succeed.
