Once again SCANA Energy has been recognized for its unwavering commitment to ethical business practices. We were named the 2006 Georgia Business Ethics Award winner by the Atlanta Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals. The Georgia Business Ethics Award is presented by Georgia Southern University’s College of Business Administration, in honor of Bill Freeman, and media partner The Atlanta Business Chronicle.
The Georgia Business Ethics Award recognizes businesses that exemplify a strong commitment to ethical practices as demonstrated in everyday business dealings and in response to specific crises and challenges. Local Award recipients are selected by an independent panel of judges drawn from academia and business. Companies are evaluated according to criteria that measure organizations’ commitment to sound ethical business practices in management philosophies and everyday operations.
SCANA Energy will now compete at the national level for the American Business Ethics Award.
This is not the first time SCANA Energy has been acknowledged for its strong business ethics. In 2005, we were awarded the Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics by the Better Business Bureau of Central Georgia, Inc. and were first runner-up for the area serving Metro Atlanta, Athens and Northeast Georgia.
