Customer Testimonial

"That was very good customer service I received from SCANA Energy. My customer relations specialist did everything you would want her to do to keep a customer. I was going to another provided but she convinced me to stay... that is the kind of customer service that is rare!"

Analyst. Diplomat. Humanitarian. Real person.
One of Connie Himmelberger’s greatest rewards is listening to an adult who, after years of struggling with the sounds of the alphabet, is able to read a letter from a family member. For the past year, Himmelberger has taught adults to read through a church-sponsored program.

“I’ve always loved the thought of teaching others to be the best they can be,” said Himmelberger. “It’s all in listening to them. That’s what makes me successful in helping others to accomplish their goals.”

The ability to listen is also why Himmelberger is successful in her job as a customer relations specialist for SCANA Energy. She knows the importance of giving her undivided attention to every call, and she’s devoted to easing each customer’s concerns and providing individual solutions.

“Being able to help customers with their concerns and resolving their issues is what I enjoy most about the job,” Himmelberger said. “Our customers want to know that the person on the other end of the line will give them the very best service possible.”

Himmelberger also believes her customer service skills benefit her volunteer work, and vice versa.

“Teaching adults to be patient with themselves is important to helping them learn to read,” she said. “Working with them improves my ability to be patient and listen to others. Volunteering also affords me a way to give something back to the community.”

Whether she’s listening to an adult read for the first time, or serving a SCANA Energy customer, Himmelberger said helping others always gives her a sense of accomplishment.

“Knowing that I was part of helping someone learn a complete a sentence, which then leads to another and another, until they can read anything they want is a great feeling, Himmelberger said. “I also get a lot of satisfaction from listening to the voice of our customers.”
