Alisha Hargett’s parents taught her that doing the right thing is the only thing to do. They always encouraged her to “give back.”
“So now,” Alisha said, “giving back feels natural to me.”
Alisha, an analyst at SCANA Energy, is involved in a number of community projects, but she spends most of her time volunteering for a homelessness prevention organization called Caring for Others, Inc.
“Volunteering for CFO allows me to let those who are homeless know that there are people who care,” said Alisha. “We provide more than the basics, such as toiletries and food. It’s an opportunity to be a smiling face for someone who needs help.”
Through Alisha’s involvement, SCANA Energy has supported CFO as a regular contributor to one of the organization’s biggest fundraisers, Meat the Need.
“I feel that SCANA Energy is a perfect fit,” Alisha said, “because our customers are some of the same people we’re helping.”
SCANA Energy also has made a financial contribution to the group’s annual fundraising gala for the last four years – money that helps CFO purchase many of the items needed to help its clients.
“It makes me feel good that not only are we truly involved in the community, but I’m giving my personal time and I have the backing of my company,” Alisha said.
Alisha’s positive outlook and natural desire to help others also carries over to her work at SCANA Energy. She focuses every day on giving customers her very best when they need it most. And while she has many responsibilities throughout the day, her greatest satisfaction is providing one thing: outstanding customer service.
