We average your 12 previous bills and calculate the projected cost of energy for the next 12 months, then divide your predicted energy use into 12 equal payments.
You will only be asked to pay your Budget Billing amount plus any non-budget charges as the Amount Due, however your bill will show the energy you used and all actual charges for the month.
Additionally, your monthly billing statement includes a Budget Billing summary of actual usage charges and payments over the last 13 months to help you stay informed of your true account balance.
Yes, budget billing plans are reviewed annually, however rate changes or a significant changes in your actual gas usage could result in mid-year reviews. When an adjustment is necessary, you will receive a communication explaining the adjustment.
If your Budget Billing plan is cancelled, your account will be reconciled to begin billing your actual total account balance as the amount due with the next bill.
You can view your Total Account Balance on the Budget History of your most recent bill to determine if you have a credit or debit balance.
Any payment amount over the Amount Due on your monthly billing statement would result in a credit balance that would be applied to your next bill.
A payment amount under the Amount Due on your monthly billing statement could result in a late payment charge of $10 or 1.5% whichever is greater. You may also be removed from Budget Billing or service could be disconnected.
